Retreat Center

For making a retreat on one of the levels of our main Center, one needs bring only personal items and food for meals. Each level has a fully equipped kitchen for meal preparation. There is a supermarket two miles away in Pittsburg. If preferred, nearby restaurants could be used. Towels and bed linens are provided.

Rustic Hermitage

Our architecturally unique Rustic Hermitage has a quadruple cathedral ceiling, no interior walls, and rooms defined by differing floor levels. Four modules create a sitting room, chapel, bedroom, and a combined study/kitchen area equipped with a small refrigerator, a microwave, and a two-burner hot plate — all within a 16-foot square area. There is electricity, an air conditioner, and heat, while water is supplied by a thermos. There is an environmentally-friendly chemical toilet.

Log-Cabin Hermitage

This Amish-built one-room structure duplicates what many of our great-grandparents called home. Electricity was added in 2021 for lighting and a fan, but oil-burning lamps are available if electricity is not desired. Heat comes from a wood-burning stove, water is carried in. Cooking is done on a propane cooking burner and an environmentally friendly indoor toilet is convenient. This new spiritual opportunity is for the more adventuresome retreatant.
